Gandaki Provincial government in crisis, Maoist Centre withdraws support



Pokhara, March 24: The provincial governments have been facing one after another crisis due to political course change in the centre. Accordingly, the CPN (Maoist Centre) has withdrawn its support to the Gandaki provincial government.

On Friday, the Gandaki Province Maoist Parliamentary Party meeting decided to withdraw its support to the UML-led government. With the withdrawal of support, two ministers will be resigning today (Friday).

CPN UML parliamentary party leader Khag Raj Adhikari was appointed as the Chief Minister on January 9, 2023 with the support of RPP along with the Maoist Centre. Now that the Maoists have withdrawn their support, the Chief Minister have to take a vote of confidence within 30 days.

Earlier today, the CPN UML had decided to withdraw support in Bagmati Province. After the UML and RPP decision, the Chief Minister Shalikram Jamkattel has decided to take vote of confidence today itself. The Nepali Congress has already decided to vote in favor of Jamkattel.
