Minimum support price of sugarcane

The government has also decided to increase the minimum support price of sugar by Rs. 20.  Now the farmers will get Rs. 610 per quintal. Minister Poudel said, “The industrialist will pay Rs. 540 and the government will provide transport subsidy of Rs. 70 per quintal.”

Farmers have already begun selling their products to sugar mills. The government was very late on deciding the minimum support price. However, farmers have expressed their dissatisfaction over the increment of MSP.
