Government recommends envoys for 18 countries, Shankar Sharma for India



Kathmandu, July 29: The government has recommended ambassadors for 18 different countries.

Today’s meeting of the Council of Ministers made this decision, Minister for Federal Affairs and General Administration Raj Kumar Gupta said.

As shared by Minister Gupta, Shankar Sharma is given continuity as Nepal’s Ambassador to India, while Lok Darshan Regmi was recommended for the United States of America.

1) India – Dr Shankar Sharma

2) United States of America – Lok Darshan Regmi

3) United Kingdom  – Chandra Ghimire

4) China- Krishna Prasad Oli

5) South Korea – Shivamaya Tumbahangfe

6) Malaysia – Netra Timilsina

7) Pakistan- Rita Dhital

8) Portugal- Prakashmani Paudel

9) Saudi Arabia – Naresh Bikram Dhakal

10) Israel – Dhana Prasad Pandit

11) South Africa – Kapilman Shrestha

12) Australia – Kanta Rizal

Minister Gupta said that the cabinet meeting also decided to recall ambassadors from five countries.

According to sources, the ambassadors of China, Russia, Australia, Sri Lanka and South Africa have been recalled. “Ambassadors appointed under the quota of Maoist Centre and Unified Socialist have been called back,” said another minister.

Nepalese ambassador to China Bishnu Pukar Shrestha, Milan Tuladhar to Russia and Kailash Raj Pokharel, ambassador to Australia have been recalled. It has been decided to recall Basudev Mishra, the ambassador to Sri Lanka and Dan Bahadur Tamang, the Nepalese ambassador to South Africa.

3 Province Chiefs relieved

Furthermore, the cabinet meeting has decided to recall province chiefs from Bagmati, Lumbini and Karnali provinces.

Yadav Chandra Sharma from Bagmati, Amik Sherchan from Lumbini and Tilak Pariyar from Karnali provinces were recalled from their post of the Province Chief, Minister Gupta added.
