Government reshuffles security personnel given to Former King Gyanendra

Kathmandu, March 29: The government has reshuffled the security personnel assigned to former King Gyanendra Shah, as well as former Prime Ministers Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ and Madhav Kumar Nepal.

According to high-level security sources, the decision was made after long-serving security personnel assigned to these VIPs reportedly stopped providing surveillance updates to the security organization.

Changes in Security Arrangements:

  • Former King Gyanendra: 16 personnel under the command of a DSP (Deputy Superintendent of Police).

  • Former PMs Prachanda and Nepal: 10 personnel each, led by an Inspector.

  • Total number of security personnel remains unchanged, but they have been replaced with new officers.

  • Armed Police Force (APF) has withdrawn security personnel previously assigned to Gyanendra Shah’s relatives.

Following the royalist protest in Tinkune, Kathmandu, on Friday, the security for Prachanda and Nepal has been increased after an assessment of the situation. #nepal #security #APF #NepalPolice
