Kathmandu, March 25: The government is to form a probe committee to investigate the incident occurred on March 19 after the demonstration against the naming of Koshi Province.
The government took the decision to form a probe committee after the discussion held at the official residence of the Prime Minister at Baluwatar at the call of Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’.
Minister for Communications and Information Technology, Rekha Sharma, shared that the government was serious towards the scenario developed after Koshi Province naming dispute and the Home Ministry would form a probe committee and forward the investigation immediately.
The government has called all the concerned sides to hold discussion regarding overall scenario.
Meanwhile, the Ministry of Home Affairs has formed a probe panel to investigate into the death of an individual happened in Biratnagar of Morang in a demonstration over the naming of Koshi Province.
The Ministry on Saturday formed the six-member probe panel under the Ministry’s Joint Secretary Ram Bandhu Subedi.
Lajehang Limbu (Padam Limbu) had died on March 24 while receiving treatment at BP Koirala Institute of Health Sciences, Dharan. Limbu was admitted to the hospital after getting injured during the demonstration.
Issuing a press statement, the Ministry said that the probe panel was constituted as per the Prime Minister and Home Minister-level decision.
