Govt heading towards journey of good governance, prosperity: PM Dahal



Pokhara, Sept 2: Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ said the government was heading towards the journey of good governance and prosperity.

At the Gandaki province level assembly organized by the Socialist Front Nepal in Pokhara on Friday, PM Dahal said he took the government leadership when the country’s economy was in doldrums. He claimed that the country’s economy has been taken to the right path by boosting collaboration between the private and public sectors.

The Prime Minister further claimed progress were made in the areas of remittance and revenue and foreign currency reserve.
The economy was still under pressure, PM Dahal said, adding problems surfaced in bank interest rates and cooperative sector would be gradually resolved.

Saying that the government was taking ahead the anti-corruption campaign with courage, he clarified that the campaign was initiated with a big heart and no guilty would remain scot free.

PM Dahal further shared that investigation into the issues related to Bhutanese refugees and Lalita Niwas land grab was coming near to conclusion. Crucial achievements were made in the course of visit to India, he said, adding environment to narrate and listen to the achievements attained was not even made.

Informing that he was soon embarking on the visit to the New York and then China, PM further said discussion would be held in the matters, including climate change induced disasters in New York. He shared discussion would be held with Chinese authorities in regard to the direct flights from Pokhara and Lumbini to different cities of China on the occasion.

PM Dahal said Nepal would significantly raise in the United Nations General Assembly the issue the third world countries including Nepal have been facing due to climate change.

Climate change was not only the issue of Nepal but of entire world, he said. “Today climate change and rising global temperature have posed threat to the future of entire human being. Time has come now to explore common solution by serious discussing on the agenda”, PM Dahal noted. He took time to claim that the formation of the Socialist Front was a conscientious act and it would encourage dedicated communists and democrats to unite.

CPN (Unified Socialist) Chair and former Prime Minister Madhav Kumar Nepal said people have expectations from the incumbent government and its delivery be focused on winning the heart of citizens. Leader Nepal said, “The presence of the Front is not just associated with the government, its thrust is to connect the citizens and the nation.”

He further said the government was functioning impartially.

CPN general secretary Netra Bikram Chand stated that the Front’s primary goal was to protect the achievements that were possible through a revolution.

Janata Samajbadi Nepal’s executive member Shibalal Thapa said the Front was the need of the time and it would continue for long. He applauded the government for its recent actions against corruption. RSS
