Sindhuli, Dec 15: Joint Coordinator of the Nepal Communist Party (NCP) and former Prime Minister Madhav Kumar Nepal has said the government needs to hold frequent and intensive dialogue with political parties to ensure that the upcoming elections are conducted on the scheduled date.

Speaking at a press meet organized by Press Centre Nepal in Sindhulimadhi this morning, Nepal said his party was in favour of holding the elections, but expressed concern that the government and other political parties had yet to engage in serious discussions on the matter.

“It is not clear whether the government has prepared a conducive environment for the elections. However, it would also be inaccurate to say that the government has completely undermined the electoral atmosphere,” he said, underscoring the need for additional dialogue to move the process forward.

According to Nepal, although the recent Gen Z movement has created a narrative suggesting that people are opposed to traditional political parties, recent political developments and events have called that perception into question.

“Nepali citizens have not lost faith in politics,” the former Prime Minister asserted, stressing the need to intensify preparations for the upcoming elections. #nepal #madhav
