Govt prioritizes APF’s Border Development Programme: PM Dahal



Kathmandu, Jan 23: Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ has said that the government would take forward the Armed Police Force (APF) Border Development Programme with high priority.

Addressing the 23rd anniversary of the APF here Tuesday, PM Dahal said that he was aware of the contributions of the APF in defending country’s security and dignity.

Reiterating that the government had attached high priority to the APF’s programmes, the Head of the Government expressed, “I am confident that border security and management run by the APF would address existing problems and challenges and thereby making a qualitative contribution in defending country’s border and dignity.”

He lauded that the contribution of police cadres and officers of the APF in discharging their duties with spirit of service towards nation and enduring the geographical and environmental adversities.

PM Dahal assured that the government was committed to further well-equip APF deployed in border security and to mobilize them more effectively.

He honoured the APF saying, “I would like to express my honour to the APF for your contribution in revenue collection, security of important personalities and structures, maintaining internal security, law enforcement, maintaining peace and order among others besides border security.”

The Prime Minister shared that he was aware of the problems in boosting the morale and advancing career of the APF’s officers. “The process to promote some 6,000 APF cadres and officers of various ranks has been completed since I led the incumbent government. The APF has been entrusted with additional responsibilities as well.”

Assuring to facilitate in addressing the remaining problems in the APF organization in coming days, the PM pledged to accord high priority on boosting morale of the cadres and officers in the APF besides ensuring services and facilities and availing with arms and ammunition, and other materials for them. #Nepal
