Kathmandu, April 7: The Balen Shah-government has recalled politically appointed ambassadors from six countries following a cabinet decision made on Sunday.
According to sources at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the concerned ambassadors have already been informed to return to Nepal within one month. Those recalled include Chitra Lekha Yadav (Australia), Dr. Shankar Sharma (India), Sumnima Tuladhar (Denmark), Shiv Maya Tumbahangphe (South Korea), Kapilman Shrestha (South Africa) and Purna Bahadur Nepali (Sri Lanka).
Earlier, after the resignation of former Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli following the “Gen Z” protests in September 8-9, 2025, the interim government had also recalled 11 ambassadors stationed in different countries, citing lack of cooperation.
Those previously recalled included Krishna Prasad Oli (China), Lok Darshan Regmi (USA), Jung Bahadur Chauhan (Russia), Chandra Kumar Ghimire (UK), Dr. Shail Rupakheti (Germany), Naresh Bikram Dhakal (Saudi Arabia), Durga Bahadur Subedi (Japan), Netra Prasad Timsina (Malaysia), Dhan Prasad Pandit (Israel), Ramesh Chandra Paudel (Qatar) and Shanil Nepal (Spain). #nepal #envoys
