Kathmandu, Nov 24: The government has scrapped the SEZ Operational Standards and Procedures, 2071 BS and reduced the SEZ rental rate from Rs 20 to Rs 5 per sq. meter per month, Education Minister Mahabir Pun said.
The Cabinet also decided to:
- Accept 23.58 million euros in EU assistance for the Green and Reliable Energy for Economic Prosperity in Nepal project.
- Approve the Electricity Regulatory Commission’s membership in South Asia for Infrastructure Regulation.
- Adjust and expand sanctioned posts in Nepal Police and form an organization and management survey committee.
- Arrange treatment and relief for those injured in the Gen-Z movement of September 8–9, and deploy 10 volunteers at the government help desk with Rs 15,000 monthly lunch allowance for four months.
- Promote DIG Ishwar Karki to Additional IGP.
- Recommend issuance of the Land Ordinance, Ninth Amendment 2022.
- Approve 37 protected-area and biological-corridor projects under the Ministry of Forest and Environment for FY 2082/83. #nepal #cabinet #sez
