Kathmandu, Dec 18: Minister for Labour, Employment and Social Security Rajendra Singh Bhandari has said that the government was preparing to form a special mechanism comprising a team from the Central Investigation Bureau (CIB) of Nepal Police to book the wrongdoers in the foreign employment sector.
At a programme organized on the occasion of the International Migration Day on Thursday, Minister Bhandari shared that the mechanism will have members from anti-trafficking, crime control and other divisions.
“We will book whoever involved in the fraud cases in the name of foreign employment. This is a base to begin good governance,” the minister added.
On the occasion, Minister Bhandari said that the government was working to create a favorable environment to work within the country, adding that the skills gained during foreign employment should be respected and utilized.
During the event, the Nepal Labour Migration Report 2024, a joint publication of the Ministry and the International Labour Organization (ILO), was released.
Likewise, Country Director of ILO Numan Özcan said that collaboration was needed for the safety and security of the migrant workers.
He said that the ILO was always positive to join hands with the government for policy reforms, labour rights and migration management.
Ministry’s Spokesperson Dr Krishna Hari Puskar said that migration culture could not be prevented from happening but a strategy for its right management was an appropriate idea.#nepal #rss
