Kathmandu, April 27: Nepal Police have arrested two more suspects for allegedly gaining unauthorised access to the e-Government Procurement (e-GP) system operated by the Public Procurement Monitoring Office and manipulating tender details.
According to SSP Shiva Kumar Shrestha of the Crime Investigation Bureau, a case was registered under the Electronic Transactions Act, 2006, following complaints that various tender details had been altered. The आरोप include modifying financial proposal documents before the official opening of bids.
Acting on arrest warrants issued by the Kathmandu District Court, a police team apprehended the two suspects. Further investigation is now being conducted under the Organised Crime Prevention Act, 2013.
The arrested individuals have been identified as Swadesh Pokharel, 30, a shareholder and accountant of Inkon Pvt Ltd. Originally from Lahan Municipality-9 in Siraha, he was arrested on April 25 from PepsiCola, Kathmandu, and currently resides in Balkot Height, Suryabinayak Municipality-3, Bhaktapur.
Similarly, Prakash Dhungana, 41, director of Kalpabriksha Builders Pvt Ltd, was detained on Sunday from Balaju, Kathmandu. He is originally from Kakani Rural Municipality-3, Nuwakot, and currently resides in Balaju, Kathmandu-16. #Nepal
