KATHMANDU: Home Minister Bal Krishna Khand has directed people to treat Myadi police (temporary police force) with due respect, as they have been assigned for the May 13 local election.
Attending a meeting of the Rupandehi district administration office here on Tuesday, he also directed the security agencies to manage prompt security for the polls.
All bodies of the government should be prepared to provide security to general public and those employed at polling stations and centers as the government has shouldered this responsibility, said the minister.
He directed security agencies to identify and maintain security at sensitive and high sensitive areas, said Chief District Officer Rishiram Tiwari.
The meeting was attended by Nepal Police, Armed Police Force, Nepal Army Chief of Lumbini Province, officer of National Investigation Department and CDOs of Rupandehi, Kapilvastu and Nawalparasi districts.
On the occasion, CDOs and chief of all three security agencies apprised the meeting of security situation of their respective workplace.
