Home Minister Thapa warns against pro-monarchists



CHITWAN, Dec 15: Minister for Home Affairs Ram Bahadur Thapa has said that the current protest in favour of monarchy and Hindu kingdom are just delusions of some groups.

Speaking at a press conference organized by the Press Association Chitwan here, he said that their dream would not come true even if they came to the conclusion that the recent crisis created by covid-19 have provided an opportunity to reverse the current system of governance and constitution.

He said that the Nepali people would never allow their dream to come true. Thapa was clarifying about the recent activities and demonstrations organized by pro-monarchists. The protests have attracted a large gathering across the country, including capital Kathmandu.

They have been demanding to declare Nepal as a Hindu nation and restoring of the King, who was thrown out from the Palace with the popular mass protests in 2062/63 BS.

Meanwhile, Thapa, a member of the Secretariat of the Nepal Communist Party (CPN), said that the contradictions within the party were a natural process. He expressed confidence that the ongoing meetings of the Standing Committee would make the party more stronger.
