Kathmandu, Jan 31: Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ has said that he has received suggestions from all quarters not to take any decision regarding the Ministry of Home Affairs until the full text comes from the Supreme Court.

Prime Minister Dahal while talking to the media at the party central office Parisdanda today indicated that he will not take any decision regarding the Ministry of Home Affairs until the full text of the decision on Rabi Lamichhane. The Supreme Court on Friday decided to relieve then Home Minister Lamichhane from all three posts as Ministry of Home Affairs, Member of House of Representatives and President of the party, Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP). In response to a question asked by the media, the Prime Minister said that they are still in dialogue with RSP Chairman Lamichhane.

He said, “We are consulting. We will proceed in such a way that the parties involved in ruling coalition will decide on this matter.” Lamichhane was removed from the post of Chairman, Deputy Prime Minister and Home Minister of the RSP after the Supreme Court’s decision regarding Lamichhane’s citizenship. On Sunday, Lamichhane again took citizenship from the Kathmandu District Administration Office. After getting citizenship, Lamichhane has been asking and lobbying Prachanda and CPN UML Chairman KP Sharma Oli to return to his previous position.

Likewise, Spokesperson Krishna Bahadur Mahara informed that organizational matters were discussed at the functionary meeting of CPN (Maoist Center) held today. Stating that only the internal matters of the party were discussed in the meeting, spokesperson Mahara said that the meeting of the standing committee of the party will be held again on Wednesday.

Spokesperson Mahara informed that meeting of officials suggested to the Prime Minister not to decide on the issue of Home Minister until the full text of the apex court is received.

In response to media inquiries about the presidential election, spokesperson Mahara said, “The majority of the party has the same opinion that the president should be elected on the basis of national consensus.” He expressed his belief that an agreement will be reached as there is still time left for the presidential election.
