HoR session postponed for today

Kathmandu, June 4: The meeting of the House of Representatives has been postponed until Thursday. The meeting, initially scheduled for 1:00 PM today, was first deferred to 3:15 PM due to a lack of consensus among the parties regarding its proceedings. However, as the session could not be held at the rescheduled time either, a notice was issued by the Parliament Secretariat stating that the session will convene at 1:00 PM on Thursday.

The opposition parties, including the CPN (Maoist Centre), Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP), and CPN (Unified Socialist), have obstructed the House proceedings, demanding the resignation of Home Minister Ramesh Lekhak and the formation of a high-level investigation committee over issues related to visit visas. Due to the firm stance maintained by the opposition on Tuesday as well, the meeting had already been deferred to today.

Today’s session was expected to include discussions on the upcoming fiscal year 2082/83 budget, which was presented in the House on Jestha 15 (May 28). #nepal #budget
