HoR will be reinstated with court decision-Chairman Dahal

POKHARA: Chairman of the Nepal Communist Party (Dahal-Nepal group) Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ has said that the House of Representatives will be reinstated by the Supreme Court decision.

Addressing a provincial level gathering of party workers here today, he said he was confident that the court would make the right interpretation of the Constitution, and reinstate the parliament.

Stating that interaction held with constitution experts, former justices and other learned people led to a belief that the lower house will be reinstated, Dahal said the citizen’s should raise voices when the Constitution and democracy are at stake.

Dahal also said that the Election Commission, as a constitutional body should decide on the matter of authenticity of the NCP as per the law. He claimed that the NCP and its election symbol, Sun, should be given to the group he leads, as it holds a majority of the central members.

Another chairperson of the party Madhav Kumar Nepal urged those choosing a wrong path to return to the party by admitting mistake and noted that they are making umpteen efforts to make the party unified and dynamic. “Party would be weak when its statute, process and discipline are breached. The intra-party struggle would never make the party feeble. Let us shun factionalism, individualistic and egoism and make the party united”.

Former Prime Minister Nepal said no one could be above the constitutional supremacy as all of us are bound to follow the constitution. He shared that his group has intensified a joint stir against the dissolution of the House of Representatives.

Also speaking on the occasion, party Spokesperson Narayan Kaji Shrestha stressed the need to keep the party and the movement united and noted that the constitutional body should in no way entertain the influence and pressure of anybody.

Also speaking on the occasion were Gandaki province in-charge Devendra Poudel, deputy in-charge Yashoda Subedi and province committee secretary Shreemaya Thakali, among others said the struggle against the government would be made further effective and stronger.
