Kathmandu, March 10: House Speaker of the House of Representatives (HoR) Devraj Ghimire has congratulated President-elect Ram Chandra Poudel by visiting at the latter’s residence this morning.
On the occasion, Speaker Ghimire wished for the successful tenure as the Head of the State.
Nepali Congress senior leader Paudel was elected the President from the voting that took place on Thursday. Poudel was a common candidate of Nepali Congress, Janata Samajwadi Party (JSP), CPN (Maoist Centre), CPN (Unified Socialist), Janamat Party, Loktantrik Samajbadi Party (LSP), Rastriya Janamorcha, Nagarik Unmukti Party, Nepal Samajwadi Party.
During the meeting, HoR Speaker Ghimire informed the President-elect about his visit to Bahrain to take part in the 146th Assembly of the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU).
Speaker Ghimire’s Press Advisor Shekhar Adhikari said that the Speaker also informed the President elect that he would not be able to attend the swearing in ceremony of the President since his visit to Bahrain to attend the IPU was already fixed.
On the occasion, President-elect Poudel expressed his greetings for the success of the IPU Assembly.
