ICC U19 Women Cricket: Nepal defeated Bhutan by four wickets

KATHMANDU: Nepal has defeated Bhutan in the third match of the ICC U-19 Women’s T20 World Cup Asia Qualifiers today. Nepal defeated Bhutan by four wickets in a match played at the Oval Cricket Ground, Malaysia.

Nepal completed the 67-run target given by Bhutan by losing six wickets in 13.01 overs.

Sanu Rajbanshi contributed the most 30 runs in Nepal’s victory. Similarly, Sana Praveen added 12 runs while Srishti Jaisi added eight runs. Ashma Pulami Magar scored three runs, captain Kritika Marasini scored two runs and Elisa Kumari Yadav scored two not out runs.

In bowling, Bhutan’s Sange Wangwo took three wickets while Sonam and Anjuli Ghale took one wicket each.

Earlier, winning the toss and batting first, Bhutan lost nine wickets in the allotted 20 overs and scored 66 runs. For Bhutan, captain Engawang and Sange Wangmo contributed 11 runs each. Pema Yangchen added nine runs and Chhado Om added six runs. In bowling, Nepal’s Kritika Marasini, Anu Kadayat and Manisha Kumari Upadhyaya took two wickets apiece.

After playing three games, Nepal has won two games and lost one. Nepal had defeated Qatar by 79 runs in the first match and lost by 10 wickets to United Arab Emirates (UAE) in the second match.

In the group, six teams including Nepal, Malaysia, UAE, Thailand, Bhutan and Qatar have been contesting.

Nepal will play against Thailand tomorrow.
