GULMI: Three persons who died on the spot in today’s jeep accident that occurred at Dobhan of Musikot Municipality in Gulmi district have been identified.
According to the District Police Office, Gulmi, the deceased have been identified as Tej Bahadur Khattri, 43, of Chandrakot Rural Municipality-4 in Gulmi district, Resham Karki, 36, of same rural municipality and Sunita BK, 62, of Resunga Municipality-2 in the same district.
The accident in which seven others were injured took place when the jeep (Lu 1 Ja 4559) heading towards Tamghas from Shantipur fell around 500 metres off the road today morning.
Superintendent of Police (SP) Gopal Chandra Bhattarai shared that injured ones were identified as Binita Pariyar of Chandrakot Rural Municipality-6, Muna Bhandari of ward no 7, Gagan Chettri of ward no-4, jeep driver Bom Bahadur BK, ward no-5 of, Sushil BK of ward no-8 and Gokul Bhandari of ward no 7 of the same rural municipality.
Similarly, Ramila Bhandari of ward no 2 of Resunga Municipality also sustained injuries in the accident.
Among the injured ones, Gokul, Ramila and Muna were availing treatment at Gulmi Hospital in Tamghas while the remaining four were being treated at Lumbini Medical College in Palpa district.
Among the injured, the condition of two was said to be critical, police said. Security personnel had rescued those dead and injured in the incident.
Gokul Bhandari, one of the injured, recalled, “I was coming to Rupakot for some paperwork at the District Administration Office. There was a landslide at the corner of the road. The road seemed to be easy.
Suddenly the jeep we were travelling on met with an accident.” The reason behind the accident is yet to be confirmed, according to police. (RSS)
