Indian Embassy celebrates Technical and Economic Cooperation day



Kathmandu, March 22: The Indian Embassy in Kathmandu hosted a special event on Friday to mark the 60th Indian Technical and Economic Cooperation (ITEC) Day.

During the event, Minister for Foreign Affairs Dr. Arzu Rana Deuba shared her experiences as a student in India and expressed gratitude for India’s contributions to development and education in Nepal.

Indian Ambassador to Nepal, Naveen Srivastava, reaffirmed India’s commitment to expanding the ITEC program and introducing more tailored initiatives in line with Nepal’s evolving priorities.

The event also featured insights from Attorney General Ramesh Badal, Assistant Coordinator of the National Security Council Secretariat and ITEC alumnus Pawan Khatri, and Armed Police Superintendent Dayaram Sharma, who shared their experiences with ITEC.

The celebration was attended by parliamentarians, senior government officials, ITEC alumni, and Nepali graduates from Indian educational institutions.

Established in 1964, ITEC is one of India’s oldest institutional programs. It has trained over 200,000 officials from more than 160 countries, according to the Indian Embassy. #ITEC #nepal
