Indian Army Chief Manoj Pande arrives in Nepal



Kathmandu: The Chief of the Army Staff of Indian Army, General Manoj Pande, along with his delegation team, arrived in Nepal on Sunday for a five-day customary visit.

According to the Nepal Army, General Pande was here on the invitation of General Prabhu Ram Sharma, Chief of the
Army Staff, Nepali Army.

Mrs. Archana Pande, the chairperson of the Army Wives Welfare Association (AWWA) of the Indian army is accompanying the General Pande.

They were received by the Vice Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Bal Krishna Karki and Mrs. Manisha Karki at the Tribhuvan International Airport.

General Pande is scheduled to be conferred upon the rank of an honorary General of the Nepali Army by President of Nepal Bidya Devi Bhandari, on Monday.

Nepali Army believes that the exchange of such high-level visit and continuation of tradition helps in strengthening relations between the two militaries and the two countries, the statement from Nepal Army said.

According to sources, General Pande will meet Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba, hold bilateral meeting with General Prabhu Ram Sharma, participate in tree plantation, and interact with students at Nepal Army’s Command and Staff College.

Likewise, General Pande will hand over different army equipment worth nearly NRs. 22 Crore.
