Kathmandu, April 3: Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ has said that the government has taken historic initiatives for the protection of the rights of Nepali labourers at home and abroad as well as dismantling the vicious cycle of feudalistic exploitation as the usurious lending practices.
The PM said this while submitting the Annual Report of the Government of Nepal for the Fiscal Year 2079/80 to the President today.
On the occasion, the Prime Minister said that the government has been successful in establishing several benchmarks for good governance.
“The situation of people having to stay in line for hours to avail of services, including obtaining citizenship, passport, license and no-objection letter for study abroad has been put to an end,” he said, adding that the government under his leadership is committed to making the delivery of services that the State has to provide to the citizens more effective and efficient.
Stating that since the last school session the government has ensured that the school textbooks reach in the hands of the students, he said there is now also no condition in which farmers face the shortage of fertilizers at the time of cultivation of crops.
The Prime Minister asserted that the process of formulation of laws has been moved ahead in a speedy manner to make the laws required for the implementation of the fundamental rights stipulated by the Constitution and for institutionalizing the federalism.
The government has kept in priority the implementation of the principles as stipulated by the Constitution.
PM Dahal said, “Election of House of Representatives and Province Assembly was held in free, fearless environment for the second term to further strengthen federal democratic governance system during this period”, adding the government was committed to transfer financial management and governance rights to three level in a justified manner as per political resolution of taking rights of Singha Durbar to door steps of the people.
Stating that there was remarkable improvement in development of hydropower sector, he clarified that the government has become successful to prepare a strong base for inter-country power trade along with power production and transmission line expansion.
The Prime Minister mentioned that the country’s economic condition is reviving due to government’s continuous efforts, explaining that most of economic indicators are becoming positive.
“More efforts are needed to increase investment in the country, to increase productivity and employment as well as to fulfill goals of prosperity, good governance and social justice and the government is aware and committed for the same”, he underscored.
PM Dahal clarified that the government is moving ahead taking good governance, social justice and prosperity as the main roadmap keeping the sentiments of constitution in mind. #Nepal
