Chautara, Jan 14: CPN (Maoist Centre) Chairman and former Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ has said that he has been continuously taking initiative for the operation of the Tatopani border transit point in its previous status.
He reaffirmed that he has made efforts for the smooth operation of the transit point whether he was the Prime Minister or not.
Addressing a press meet programme here today, he said talks have been held with the Chinese government from time to time in that connection.
He arrived in Sindhupalchowk to inaugurate the Beach Volleyball Tournament being organized at local Sukute.
Former PM Dahal said initiatives and efforts were needed from the higher levels of the two countries to bring the border points back into operation in a smooth manner.
He expressed the belief that the beach volleyball tournament would help promote tourism in Sukute.
Recalling that Sukute had attracted the country’s attention when the standing committee meeting of the CPN (Maoist Centre) was held in Sukute for the first time, he said he was concerned for the development of Sindhupalchowk.
