Kathmandu, March 21: In a period of about 62 years, it has been found that about Rs. 2,800 billion worth of investment has been made in the industry sector alone. According to the data published by the Department of Industry, an investment worth Rs. 2,800 billion has been proposed investment commitment till the end of March 15, 2023 of the current financial year (in industries of various sectors).
From the financial year 2017/18 to 2079/80 BS, the investment proposal has been made for 8,974 industries. According to the data, the largest number of investment proposals are in small industries among the industries registered so far. According to statistics, the registered industries have provided employment to 670,255 people.
According to the data released by the department for the eight months of the current financial year 2022/23, Nepal has a total of Rs. 1,550 billion domestic and foreign investment commitments for 183 enterprises.
Similarly, during the period of eight months, nearly Rs 31 billion investment commitments have been made for 239 foreign investment industries.
During the eight months of the current financial year, nearly Rs. 13.5 billion have gone abroad. According to the data of eight months published by the Department of Industry, it has been recommended to refund the above amount.
According to the department, the amount can be taken within 15 days after the approval of the department.
