Jazeera Airways to operate flights from Gautam Buddha International Airport

KATHMANDU: Kuwait’s Jazeera Airways is set to launch its first commercial flight at Gautam Buddha International Airport, a project of national pride.

Jazeera has applied to the Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal (CAAN) for regular flights from May 16 (Buddha Jayanti).

According to CAAN Deputy Director General Dev Chandra Lal Karna, Jazeera has applied for regular daily flights. Jazeera will fly Kuwait-Bhairahawa-Kuwait directly. Jazeera is currently operating regular flights to Kathmandu.

The Nepal Airlines Corporation (NAC) will conduct a test flight at Gautam Buddha Airport on April 14 after the recent mechanical test flight ‘Calibration Flight’.

Deputy Director General Karna informed that commercial international flights will be opened from April 20. He also said that all the necessary preparations have been completed for the commercial flight.
