Janakpurdham, May 27: The District Court Dhanusha has on Monday issued an order to remand Kantipur Media Group Chairman Kailash Sirohiya for three more days for investigation in the citizenship-related case.

Deputy Superintendent of Police Ranjan Awa informed that the single bench of Judge Yaduraj Sharma issued an order to detain Chair Sirohiya for three more days at the District Police Office Dhanusha for investigation.

The District Police Office Dhanusha has sent for forensic examination of Chairman Sirohiya’s signature revealing his date of birth, and as the report is yet to come, he was submitted to the court through the district attorney to be detained for five days for further investigation.

Advocate Binod Sharma, Raman Karna, Dinesh Tripathi and Kishore Paudel argued in favor of accused Sirohiya, who is under police investigation. It is said that he has been undergoing treatment at Kavya Hospital in Janakpur for three days due to high blood pressure and heart problems.

Mr Sirohiya has repeatedly denied all the fabricated arguments related his citizenship. However, he alleged that Home Minister Rabi Lamichhane was putting pressure on law enforcement agencies to harass him personally and trying to suppress news related to embezzlement of billions of rupees from different cooperatives where Lamichhane was involved.
