Kathmandu Metropolitan fines former King Gyanendra Rs 793,000

Kathmandu, March 29: Kathmandu Metropolitan City (KMC) has imposed a fine of Rs 793,000 on former King Gyanendra Shah.

The fine was issued in response to littering and damage caused during a pro-monarchy protest held at Tinkune in Kathmandu on Friday, organized at the call of Durga Prasai.

According to KMC, protesters vandalized municipal structures, fire trucks, and firefighting equipment, leading the city to hold the former king accountable. The municipality has issued seven different letters addressing the former king Gyanendra Shah.

On Saturday, a KMC team conducted an assessment of damages and cleanup costs in the Tinkune–Koteshwor–Jadibuti area. Based on their findings, the city decided to recover the expenses from former King Gyanendra. #nepal #gyanendra #KMC
