Pokhara : Khagita Sinjali Magar of Tribhuvan Army Club has won gold in the field event high jump towards the women’s category held under the ongoing Ninth National Games in Pokhara.
The Army’s athlete clinched the gold by jumping one meter 52 cm in the final held today at the Pokhara stadium.
The silver was won by Army’s Bindu Thanet (one meter 50 cm) and Seema Shrestha (141 cm) from the Gandaki province bagged the bronze.
Army clinches gold in Sepaktakraw
Nepalese Army (NA) has won gold in Sepaktakraw in both men’s and women’ double held under the ongoing the Ninth National Games 2079 BS.
In the match held at Kawasoti in East Nawalparasi, the NA departmental team beat the Province 1 in straight sets 2-0 to win the gold medal towards the men’s doubles.
Anil Jarghamagar, Roshan Tamang and Dipesh Jung Thapa contributed to the team for limiting the Province 1 to the silver.
The bronze medal is secured by the Bagmati Province.
In women’s doubles, the departmental team Army won the gold by defeating Bagmati Province in straight 2-0 sets. Chanda Chaudhary, Sumina Dangol and Sommaya Thapa won gold for Army in women’s doubles while the Bagmati won silver and Gandaki won the bronze.
