Kathmandu, July 11: The Kathmandu Metropolitan City (KMC) has set a budget ceiling of Rs 25.11 billion for the upcoming fiscal year 2082/83 (2025/26).
Due to internal disputes, KMC is set to unveil its budget later than the deadline. The decision on the budget ceiling was made at today’s Revenue Advisory Committee meeting chaired by Mayor Balen Shah.
The 40th meeting of the KMC executive body decided that the 17th Municipal Assembly session will be convened on Sunday. On the same day, a meeting of the executive body will also be held, according to Mayor Shah.
For the current fiscal year, KMC had brought a budget of Rs 24.90 billion. The ceiling for the upcoming year is an increase of Rs 210 million compared to the current year.
During the Revenue Advisory Committee meeting, Mayor Shah instructed officials to allocate more funds for infrastructure development in line with public demand.
