Korean Ambassador Open International Taekwondo from September 13



Kathmandu, Sept 10: The 11th Korean Ambassador Open International Taekwondo Championship-2023 is taking place in Kathmandu from coming September 13-17.

Co-organised by the Embassy of Korea in Nepal and the Nepal Taekwondo Association (NTA), the total 1,778 senior and junior athletes (711 women and 1,067 men) will participate in the tournament, said the NTA Vice President Bhan Bahadur Chand, also coordinator of the organising committee, at a press conference here today.

The athletes will compete for the total 57 gold medals (25 gold in poomsae and 32 in kyorugi).

Alongside Nepali athletes, others from India and Bangladesh will participate (35 athletes from India and 33 from Bangladesh), said the organisers. The event expenditures are expected to be around Rs 3.5 million. The winners will qualify for the ‘World Korean Ambassador Championship’ taking place in Korea, said the NTA.
