Korola border point comes into operation from today



Kathmandu, Nov 13: The Korola  (Lizi Nechung in Chinese language) border point between Nepal and China (Tibet) have officially opened today.

It is the fourth Nepal-China land port after Keyrung, Khasa and Purang ports.

It is an important outcome of President Xi Jinping’s visit to Nepal in 2019 and the consensus reached by the leaders of the two countries during Nepal’s Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal Prachanda’s China visit.

According to reports, Nepal could not develop sufficient infrastructure in Nepal side. However, China has constructed many infrastructure like dry port including a small town Lizi inside Tibet. In Lizi, the China government has constructed a dry port and nearly 500 houses are there.

On the opening day, some loaded Chinese trucks were there in border point. Nearly 1,000 Mustang residents took pass for visiting Tibet through Korola border point. Likewise, nearly 500 Mustang resident businessmen were present in the border point to receive different materials.

Korola border point will be more beneficial to the people of upper Mustang and business people.
