
Biratnagar, May 19: Koshi Province Chief Parshuram Khapung presented the annual policy and program of the province for the fiscal year 2082/83 at the Koshi Province Assembly today.
Reading out the annual policy and programme, Province Chief Khapung said that the policy has been development with the goal of building a ‘clean, happy and prosperous province’ with a committed to institutionalize the achievements of the provincial government and creating more hope and trust among the citizens in line with the spirit of federalism.
The policy and program mentions about strengthening the federal democratic republican governance system by keeping the importance and needs of the provincial structure at the center while expanding the scope of internal revenue, policy and institutional reforms for sustainable management of resources for financial good governance and development.
Similarly, it has laid stress on institutionalizing the achievements of the Provincial Investment Summit, emphasizing institutional and policy reforms to develop and construct projects according to the concept of public-private cooperative partnership, taking the Koshi Tourism Year 2082 as the base year for tourism development, and contributing to national capital creation by developing and promoting policy, structural, and tourism infrastructure.
Special campaigns against drug abuse and human trafficking, the Chief Minister’s Essential Service Center to be converted into the ‘Koshi Essential Service Center’, necessary policy and legal arrangements for environment-friendly vehicles using green energy, and a program based on banking loans will be made effective for entrepreneurship development for small and medium enterprises.
The policy and program have been stressed on development of areas of religious, cultural, archaeological and historical importance within the province and strengthen the physical infrastructure of schools in the mountain and hilly areas.
To implement the concept of ‘Farmers are at the forefront’, 110-point initiative has been included including conducting a farmer-centered campaign, emphasizing the production, use and marketing of goods and services based on local raw materials, protecting consumer rights and creating a healthy and competitive environment.
Deliberations on the policy and programmes of the government presented by the Province Chief today will begin from the provincial assembly meeting scheduled for 1:00 pm on Tuesday.#nepal #political #rss
