Kathmandu, July 30: Member of Parliament representing the Nepali Congress Kusum Devi Thapa has been elected chairperson of House of Representatives Agriculture, Cooperatives and Natural Resources Committee.
Thapa was elected unopposed today on the proposal of NC MP Bir Bahadur Balayar and seconded by CPN (UML) MP Surya Prasad Dhakal.
The post had fallen vacant after the erstwhile chair of the committee, Dr Arzu Rana Deuba, was appointed as the foreign minister.
Thapa was the only candidate for the post of chair of the committee.
