Surkhet Feb 22: The installation process of ‘Liquid Nitrogen Plant’ has begun in Karnali.
Ministry of Land Management, Agriculture and Cooperatives of Karnali Province is establishing the ‘liquid nitrogen plant’ on the premises of the Directorate of Livestock Development in Birendranagar, Surkhet with the aim of improving livestock production.
According to the Ministry’s Spokesperson Dhan Bahadur Kathayat, the construction of the liquid nitrogen plant has started for freezing animal semen and artificial insemination. He said after the establishment of the plant, the objective of improving the productivity of cows, buffaloes, producing high-quality fodder and calves would be fulfilled.
Spokesperson Kathayat further informed that construction of the plant has started for the first time in Karnali Province after preparing a detailed project report (DPR). It may be noted that the ministry has allocated a budget of Rs 40.85 million for the project in the current fiscal year.
He said the government has made adequate budgetary allocation to make the province self-reliant in milk. “Liquid nitrogen plant is required for storing semen and artificial insemination of animals. As of now the Karnali province has been compelled to bring the semen of the animals from outside, “said spokesman Kathayat.
He expressed confidence that the plant would be helpful in preserving the frozen semen of high-breed he-buffalo and bulls purchased from outside and used in the artificial insemination process.#nepal #Liquid Nitrogen Plant #rss
