Locals release python in Parsa National Park

Hetauda, July 2: A 33 kg python was found on Saturday in the Lamitar Community Forest located in Manhari rural municipality-3 in the western region of Makwanpur district.

After the python killed a goat in the Lamitar forest of Handikhola, the locals took control of it and handed it over to Parsa National Park. “After receiving the information that the python had killed the goat, we took the python under control and put it in charge of the park”, said Shyam Bahadur Rai, a local resident.

Local youth of Lamitar area took control of the snake. This was the first time python of such size locals have witnessed.

Bishnu Poudel, ranger of Lamitar sector post under Parsa National Park, informed that another python was also released in the ‘core area’ of the park.
