Dang, July 20: A person has died after being accidently run over by a parked vehicle in Deukhuri.
Rajesh Kumar Baniya, 21, of Sunkholi, Lamahi Municipality-5, died this morning in the incident, said Deputy Superintendent of Police Chakra Bahadur Shah of the District Police Office.
The incident reportedly took place when a support placed on the rear tire of a pickup (Lu. 3 Cha. 4814) parked in front of his house was removed. The vehicle rolled back ’leaving Baniya seriously injured.
Although he was immediately rushed to Lamahi Hospital, he passed way in course of treatment. An investigation has been launched into the incident, police said.
Body of man missing after landslide found in Parbat
The body of a man missing along with his wife after a landslide buried their house in Langdi, Deurali of Modi Rural Municipality-3 has been recovered.
Chhabilal Bishwakarma, 78, and his wife Bishnumati, 76, had gone missing after their one-storey house was buried in the incident that took place last night. The couple’s daughter-in-law, Pabitra, 32, managed to escape the landslide by jumping out of the house.
The body of Bishwakarma was found buried by locals and security personnel, said Rabin Bista, Deputy Superintendent of Police at the District Police Office. The search for Bishnumati is underway.
