Maoist Centre to deploy 3,100 volunteers in quake-affected districts



Surkhet, Nov 19: The Karnali Province Committee of the ruling CPN (Maoist Centre) has decided to mobilize a total of 3,100 volunteers to support the quake-affected people in the districts of Jajarkot, Rukum Paschim and Salyan of Nepal.

A review meeting of the party’s Province Special Transformation Campaign took a decision to this effect.

The volunteers to be deployed in the earthquake affected communities will work to build temporary residence for the homeless people there and assist with the authorities in the reconstruction bids.

The volunteers would be deployed under the leadership of the concerned district’s chief of the CPN (Maoist Centre).

The earthquake occurred on November 3 killed a total of 157 people in Jajarkot and Rukum Paschim districts while affecting the around 105 wards in different districts.

A team of 21 volunteers would be mobilized in each ward, the CPN (Maoist Centre) shared.
