Maoist lawmaker floor cross, CM Pandey receives vote of confidence

Pokhara, June 10: Chief Minister of Gandaki Province Surendra Raj Pandey has received the vote of confidence today. A total of 31 MPs voted in favor of the motion of confidence submitted by Chief Minister Pandey in the provincial assembly.

According to provincial assembly secretariat, 27 of the Nepali Congress, 2 of the Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP), Rajiv Gurung aka Deepak Manange and Nepal Samajwadi Party (NSP) lawmaker Fanindra Devkota, who won the election with the Maoist symbol, voted in favor of Pandey.

Devkota crossed the floor against the Maoist Party whip and gave a vote of confidence to the Chief Minister Pandey. Similarly, there were 28 votes against Pandey. A total of 59 MPs participated in the voting process.

Recently, he was reinstated as the Chief Minister of Gandaki with the order of the Supreme Court. #nepal #pokhara
