Kathmandu, Jan 21: The CPN Maoist Center’s alternate central member Gorkha Bahadur KC (Sandesh) has accused General Secretary Dev Gurung of misappropriating relief materials supported by the Chinese government for the Jajarkot earthquake victims.
Accusing the General Secretary Gurung of misusing his power and making irregularities in the distribution of relief materials through his relatives’ organizations, KC has demanded that the party and the government investigate the matter.
KC was involved in the incident when Sou Xichang, the Director of the Chinese organization ‘China Foundation for Rural Development’, who was carrying relief materials to the earthquake victims in Jajarkot and Rukum Paschim, was assaulted on December 6, 2023 at Rimna in Bheri municipality of Jajarkot.
The party standing committee meeting held on January 13 decided to seek an explanation from KC on the incident of assaulting a Chinese official who had arrived with relief. Responding to the explanation asked by the party on January 19, KC accused General Secretary Gurung of irregularities and demanded an investigation. #Nepal
