Maoists hold discussion on Tarai-Madhes awareness campaign



Kathmandu, Feb 22: The CPN (Maoist Centre) has held discussions on preparations for the Tarai-Madhes (Postal Highway) awareness campaign aimed at connecting the party with the people in the southern plain area.

The standing committee meeting presided over by party chair Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ at the party headquarters in Parisdanda today discussed about the second phase of the campaign to be conducted on March 14-28, party secretary Ganesh Sah told RSS. General discussions were also held on the route of the campaign, he said.

The campaign will start from Chandragadhi, Jhapa and reach western Nepal via Birgunj, Thori, Madi Chitwan. The Maoists are preparing to launch the campaign on the basis of postal highway.

The Maoists had decided to launch an awareness campaign targeting the Tarai-Madhes after drawing a conclusion that the ‘Maoist Transformation Special Campaign with the People’, conducted across the country from August to December last year, went successful.

In the meeting, in-charges of seven geographical and three non-geographical provinces reported on the campaign. The standing committee meeting is scheduled to resume at 1.00 pm tomorrow. #Nepal
