Kathmandu, July 4 : A meeting between Speaker Devraj Ghimire and top leaders of the three major political parties, including the Prime Minister, is now taking place.
Speaker Ghimire is holding discussion with Prime Minister and CPN (Maoist Centre) Chairperson, Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’, CPN (UML) Chairperson KP Sharma Oli and Nepali Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba. The meeting is in progress at the Speaker’s office, Singha Durbar, from 11:00 am.
The Speaker is holding meeting with top leaders on the issue of electing chairpersons of Parliamentary Committees and making the Parliament more effective.
Similarly, Minister for Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs, Dhanraj Gurung, is also participating in the meeting.
A total of 10 thematic committees under the House of Representatives were formed on April 28, but they have not been able to pick chairpersons till date.RSS
