Chautara, June 1: The Sunkoshi rural municipality of Sindhupalchowk district has distributed mini tillers to 210 farmers at 50 percent grant.
With the discount, the farmers can buy the agricultural implement at Rs 14,400.
The mini tillers were provided to farmers after they deposited necessary amounts at rural municipality’s account, said Tapindra Timalsina. E-bidding was made for purchase of the tillers.
The Smart Agro Solution Pvt was selected in the bidding for its proposal of minimum cost.
A farmer Prem Prasad Neupane from Sunkoshi-1 said he was happy to get essential agricultural machine with the assistance from local level.
Although the rural municipality had planned to distribute the mini tillers to a certain groups of farmers this time, it later provided to other groups in the wake of rising demand, according to Mohan Kumar Shrestha, Chief Administrative Officer.
