Kathmandu, Oct 2: Minister for Physical Infrastructures and Transport, Devendra Dahal, and Minister for Defense, Manbir Rai, held a discussion on speedy repair and reconstruction of damaged roads to ensure smooth transportation.
During the discussion held at Ministry for Physical Infrastructure, the Defense Ministry pledged assistance to repair and reconstruct the roads in the wake of approaching festivals. Various highways were damaged in the recent disasters caused by nonstop rains last week.
In case of need, Nepali Army persons could be involved in the repair and reconstruction works along the BP Highway that faced damages at several places.
The discussion was also attended by the secretary of the Defense Ministry, Keshav Kumar Sharma, and Director General at the Department of Roads, Ramhari Pokhrel.
The Department informed that all-out efforts were being made to resume traffic on the blocked highways and roads.
