Kathmandu, June 12: Minister for Health and Food Safety, Nisha Mehta, on Friday visited the Singha Durbar Vaidyakhana at Anamnagar, Kathmandu.
During the visit, the Minister stressed the need for making the manufacturing of ayurvedic and herbal medicines further effective, ensuring that the production is sufficient to address domestic need.
She also urged the Vaidyakhana management to present details of required resources, equipment and workforce to undertake prompt reform efforts aimed at enhancing the facility’s strength, its production efficiency and market promotion.
The Minister also directed for improving overall cleanliness aspects and related management.
Ministry secretary Dr Bikash Devkota claimed that production of Singha Durbar Vaidyakhana, the government entity for manufacturing ayurvedic and herbal medicines, meet quality standards. However, its capacity should be further increased, he stressed.
Vaidyakhana’s executive director Dr Pradeep KP apprised the Minister of company’s productions which include both medicines and food supplements.
The company suffering loss for the past five years has now in profit in the aftermath of the raise in medicine production.
According to him, presently, the Vaidyakhana manufactures 103 sorts of medicines, stating that it is in position of increasing the production provided that the government support is ensured. #nepal #rss
