Kathmandu, Dec 10: Minister for Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs Anil Kumar Sinha has requested for support for the protection of human rights.
At a program organized here today on the occasion of the 77th International Human Rights Day, he urged all concerned to provide constructive feedback to improve the shortcomings seen in the context of the protection of human rights.
“The government cannot work on the protection of human rights alone, everyone has an equal role to play. Hence, I urge all human rights activists, civil society and concerned organizations to support the efforts being made by the government.”
He also expressed the commitment that the government will fully implement the reports or recommendations of the National Human Rights Commission, Truth and Reconciliation Commission and the Commission on Investigation of Enforced Disappearances.
December 10th of every year is commemorated as the day of adoption of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights (UDHR), passed by the United Nations General Assembly in 1948 in recognition of the universal values and principles of human rights.
The Declaration guarantees equal rights to all without distinction as to race, religion, sex, language, opinion, social origin or birth. #nepal #rss
