Mundum Monsoon Trail Race: Pratap and Pushpa come first



Bhojpur, June 8: Pratap Thamsuhang and Pushpa Sherma have come first in the open men’s category and women’s category respectively in the 8th edition of the Mundum Monsoon Trail Race2026.

In the 18-kilometer race held on Monday Pratap covered the distance in one hour, 59 minutes and 19 seconds, while Pushpa came first among women to complete the race in two hours, 33 minutes and 14 seconds.

A total 58 people participated in the men’s and women’s open category and women’s and men’s (veteran) category organized by Rimachung Education and Sports Academy with financial support of Temkemaiyung Rural Municipality.

Chandra Bahadur Limbu and Deepak Rai came second and third in the open men’s category while Rushma Rai and Dirpa Basnet came second and third respectively in the women’s category.

The race was held via Chakhewa, Base Camp, Temke, Tawabhanjyang, Panchdhar and back to Chakhewa, The Trail Race is being organized with the aim of promoting and publicizing the famous Mundum Trek in Bhojpur, which is listed among the 100 tourist destinations of the government. Meanwhile, in the men’s (veteran) category above 40 years of age, Jangbir Kulung came first, Kiran Kulung came second and Vijay Kumar Rai came third, covering the distance in two hours, 12 minutes and 49 seconds.

In the women’s category, Jamuna Rai came first, Binita Rai came second and Nirva Rai came third, covering the distance in three hours, 29 minutes and 30 seconds, according to the organizing committee chair Pavihang Rai. #nepal #rss
