Gulmi, Nov 13: Air service would be provided four days in a week at Resunga airport from today. Chief of Nepal Airlines Corporation Resunga Station, Suman Thapa, said the flights have been resumed regularly for four days from today.
The Nepal Airlines had been making flight at Resunga airport only once in a week (Thursday) for the past five months after the NA twin otter aircraft went dysfunctional.
Chief Thapa shared that the repair and maintenance of the aircraft was carried out and flights would be operated for four days in a week– Sunday, Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday. The 19-seat twin otter plane would make flight to Resunga from Kathmandu at 6:30 am and Resunga to Kathmandu at 7:30 am.
The NAC has fixed Rs 7,500 per person as fare to Gulmi from Kathmandu and Rs 7,300 to Kathmandu from Gulmi. Following the high air pressure at Resunga airport during the afternoon, flights would be operated only in the morning, it is said.
PM Karki directs to expedite work to bring NAC aircraft into operation
Meanwhile, Prime Minister Sushila Karki has directed the Nepal Airlines Corporation authorities to bring the engine of the A-320 aircraft, currently in Israel, swiftly to resume operations through the aircraft.
Today, during a meeting with the NAC board of directors and management officials at Singha Durbar, Prime Minister Karki expressed her concern regarding the practice of leaving the aircraft’s engine unused in Israel while a rented engine is utilized for its operation. Such irregularities are unacceptable.
“Our engine is merely sitting idle while the cost of renting continue to escalate,” she remarked.
She stressed that no procedural justifications should be offered and that a situation where institutions funded by the public’s money are rendered inoperative must not be permitted.
Prime Minister Karki also encouraged decisiveness in favor of the nation, its citizens, and the institution.
Finance Minister Rameshwar Khanal, Chief Secretary Ekanarayan Aryal, Secretary of the Ministry of Culture, Tourism, and Civil Aviation Hari Prasad Mainali, Chair of the NAC Bikram Rai, and Acting General Manager Jankaraj Kalakheti, among others were present in the meeting. #nepalAirlines #nepal #NAC
