Kathmandu, Jan 28: Parliamentarians attending the Nepali Congress (NC) parliamentary party’s meeting on Monday emphasized financial compensation to the cooperatives scams’ victims from the erring cooperatives themselves.
In the meeting convened at the Parliament Building at Baneshwor, they voiced that the money should be paid back to cooperatives’ victims by those who misappropriated the cooperatives’ fund. They argued that the amount to be paid to the victims is staggeringly huge and the State cannot pay it.
In the meeting, parliamentary meeting’s Chief Whip Shyam Kumar Ghimire notified the lawmakers that the government introduced the ordinance in line with the same sentiments.
The office-bearers are currently deliberating the contemporary political issues in the meeting. Ghimire expressed his confidence that the ordinance would help address the cooperatives victims’ issues.
On a different note, he assured that the incumbent government would proceed as per the seven-point agreement reached between the Nepali Congress and CPN (UML).
During the meeting, the ministers representing the NC in the incumbent government briefed the lawmakers about the works done by the government besides their undertakings.
The meeting of the parliamentary party has been postponed until 8:00 am on January 31. #Congress #nepal
