Kathmandu, Nov 8: The Nepali Congress (NC) has passed a condolence motion on the demise of the party leader and former minister Mohammad Aftab Alam.
Krishna Prasad Paudel, Chief Secretary of the Congress Central Office, announced that the party convened an urgent Central Working Committee meeting today, chaired by Acting President Purna Bahadur Khadka, to pass the motion.
The Congress has conveyed profound sadness over the loss of 63-year-old Alam, who was a former central committee member, minister, and chairman of the Rautahat district.
He passed away last night while undergoing treatment at Kathmandu Medical College in Sinamangal, Kathmandu.
Alam was born on Asar 5, 2019 BS in Rajpur Farhadwa VDC-4 of Rautahat and began his political career with the Nepal Student Union in 2036 BS.
